Mentbox

The MentBox project, known as the Modular Mental Health Toolbox, is focused on providing effective, adaptable, and scalable mental health interventions for vulnerable groups across Europe. These groups include migrants, refugees, Roma populations, and the long-term unemployed, all of whom face elevated risks of mental health issues. The project aims to bridge gaps in mental health care by creating a comprehensive toolbox of evidence-based interventions, tailored to the unique needs of each EU member state.

GAMIAN-Europe is central to ensuring that the patient voice is heard throughout the project. Their specific responsibilities include:

  1. Co-creation of Interventions:
    • GAMIAN-Europe will work closely with health professionals, patients, and vulnerable groups (migrants, refugees, Roma) to tailor mental health interventions by providing input during the co-creation process and ensuring interventions meet the real needs of patients.
    • GAMIAN-Europe will be involved in focus groups, semi-structured interviews, and other participatory methods to inform intervention design.
  1. Collaboration with Roma Communities:
    • GAMIAN-Europe will actively participate in designing interventions tailored for the Roma community in Spain. This will involve working closely with local stakeholders to identify the community’s mental health needs and ensure interventions are effective.
  1. Policy Consultation:
    • GAMIAN-Europe will provide advice to ministries across the EU to ensure that patient perspectives are central to policy-making and implementation processes. This includes advising on how best to include patient views in national mental health strategies and frameworks.
  1. Toolbox Development:
    • GAMIAN-Europe will review and advise on the development of the Modular Mental Health Toolbox, ensuring it accurately reflects patient needs and provides practical, patient-centered guidance for implementing mental health interventions across Europe
